บ้านศิลปินหัวหิน ก่อตั้งมาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2543 จนถึงปัจจุบันก็เป็นเวลานานกว่า 17 ปีแล้ว โดย “คุณชุมพล ดอนสกุล” นักสะสมผลงานศิลปะ และครอบครัว โดยมี “อาจารย์ทวี เกษางาม” เป็นผู้สืบทอดอุดมการณ์ และสานต่อเจตนารมณ์ที่มีต่องานศิลป์อย่างสุดใจ ก่อให้เกิด “บ้านศิลปิน หัวหิน” บนพื้นที่ขนาด 9 ไร่ โดยจะมีผลงานศิลปะทุกแขนง ทั้งภาพเขียน สีน้ำ สีน้ำมัน สีอะคริลิก งานประติมากรรม รูปปั้น งานไม้แกะสลัก ของตกแต่งบ้าน ของเก่า และของสะสม... ที่ล้วนสร้างสรรค์ไว้อย่างสวยงาม นำมารวบรวม และจัดแสดงไว้ที่นี่ ภายในโดยรวมจะร่มรื่นไปด้วยต้นไม้ใหญ่ และกลมกลืนไปด้วยงานศิลปะที่ถูกจัดแสดงไว้ได้อย่างลงตัว เมื่อเดินเข้าไปด้านใน ทางขวามือก็จะพบกับร้านกาแฟ “Art Café บ้านศิลปิน” ที่ให้คุณนั่งดื่มด่ำกับเครื่องดื่มที่ชอบ ท่ามกลางผลงานศิลปะสวยๆ ที่มีบรรยากาศดีๆ ริมสระน้ำ ถัดเข้าไปอีกสักหน่อย ทางซ้ายมือก็จะเป็น “หอศิลป์” ที่ได้รวบรวมผลงานหลากหลายแบบให้ได้เดินชมกัน ซึ่งบริเวณด้านหน้าหอศิลป์ ก็ยังมีมุมเก๋ๆ ให้เลือกถ่ายรูปกันอีกหลายมุม เดินเข้าไปอีกสักนิดแล้วเลี้ยวขวา ก็จะเป็นสตูดิโอของ “อาจารย์ทวี เกษางาม” ที่จัดแสดงภาพวาดบึงบัวขนาดใหญ่กว่า 400x110 cm. ชื่อ ภาพ “ราชินีดอกไม้ที่เกิดจากโคลนตม” ซึ่งเป็นผลงานชิ้นเอกชิ้นหนึ่งของ อ.ทวี และบริเวณรอบๆ ก็ยังมีสตูดิโอของศิลปินท่านอื่นๆ ที่มีอยู่ราวๆ 20 ท่าน กระจายอยู่ตามจุดต่างๆ ให้ได้เดินเลือกชม ซึ่งแต่ละท่านก็จะมีผลงานสไตล์เฉพาะตัวที่แตกต่างกันไป บางท่านก็จะมานั่งโชว์ฝีไม้ลายมือ วาดผล งานให้เห็นกันสดๆ ใครชื่นชอบชิ้นไหนของใคร ก็สามารถสอบถาม หรือเลือกซื้อกันได้เลย

จากถนนเพชรเพษม แยกถนนชมสินธุ์ตัวเมืองไปทางถนนหินเหล็กไฟ ทางไปวัดห้วยมงคล เลยทางเข้าวัดเขาอิติสุคโตไปประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร ก็จะเห็นบ้านศิลปินอยู่ทางขวามือ หรือหากเริ่มจาก ซ.หัวหิน 70 ให้วิ่งตรงเข้ามา เมื่อข้ามทางรถไฟ ก็ให้เลี้ยวขวาไปตามถนนหัวหิน - หนองพลับ (3218) ระยะทางประมาณ 4 กม. จนข้ามช่องเขาที่เรียกว่าเขาด่าน แล้วสังเกตทางขวามือก็จะเจอ
