อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาสามร้อยยอด มีเนื้อที่ทั้งหมดประมาณ 98 ตารางกิโลเมตรครอบคลุม พื้นที่ 2 อำเภอคือ อำเภอกุยบุรีและอำเภอสามร้อยยอด เป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติทางทะเลแห่งแรกของประเทศไทย ภูมิประเทศประกอบด้วยเทือกเขาหินปูนสลับซับซ้อน ลำคลองและที่ราบน้ำท่วมถึงเกิดเป็นทุ่งหนองเป็นที่อาศัยของบรรดาสัตว์ป่าและนกประจำถิ่น นกอพยพมากกว่า 300 ชนิด ภายในอุทยานฯมีแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจหลายแห่ง

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park has a total area of about 98 square kilometers, covering 2 districts, Kui Buri District and Sam Roi Yot District. It is the first marine national park in Thailand. The terrain consists of complex limestone mountains, canals and flooded plains to be swampy fields. It is home to more than 300 species of wildlife and birds. There are many interesting tourist attractions within the park.

จากหัวหิน ใช้เส้นทางหลวงหมายเลข 4 (ถนนเพชรเกษม) จนถึง หลักกิโลเมตรที่ 286 เลี้ยวซ้ายที่แยกลำโหรงเข้าไปที่ทำการอุทยานฯ ประมาณ 14 กิโลเมตร หรือเลี้ยวซ้ายที่สี่แยกปราณบุรี หรือประมาณหลักกิโลเมตรที่ 256 เส้นทางปราณบุรี ปากน้ำปราณฯ 4 กิโลเมตร จึงเลี้ยวขวาไปตามเส้นทางหมายเลข 1020 ประมาณ 20 กิโลเมตร ถึงด่านตรวจฯ จากด่านตรวจฯ ตรงไป ผ่านแยกบางปู ผ่านทางเข้าถ้ำไทร, หาดสาม พระยา ถึงที่ทำการอุทยานฯ ระยะทางจากเพชรเกษม ถึงที่ทำการอุทยานฯ ประมาณ 37 กิโลเมตร

From Hua Hin take the road no.4 until you reach Sam Rong junction kilometer stone 286, turn left to the headquarters for about 14 km. or turn left at Pran Buri intersection kilometer stone 256 Pran Buri-Pak Nam Pran route for 4 km. Then turn right on the road no1020 for 20 km. to the check point, and go straight past Bang Pu junction, Sal Cave. Had Sam Praya to the headquarters. The distance from the highway to the headquarters is about 37 km.
